Conservation Level 3 - Water Shortage

August 03, 2026

STAGE 3 WATER SHORTAGE EMERGENCY

Effective immediately — August 3, 2026

MAXIMUM CONSERVATION IS REQUIRED

RCSD has determined, based on current source-supply and operational conditions, that it cannot reliably assure all ordinary water demands can be met without immediate conservation. The Miranda gauge is not currently providing sufficiently current information for RCSD to rely on it as the sole indicator of available supply.

MANDATORY DAILY USE LIMITS

RESIDENTIAL

60 gallons

per resident, per day

COMMERCIAL & INDUSTRIAL

400 gallons

per account, per day

ALL STAGE 1 AND STAGE 2 RESTRICTIONS REMAIN MANDATORY

•  Outdoor watering only between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m., for no more than 10 minutes per area.

•  Odd-numbered addresses: Wednesday and Sunday. Even-numbered addresses: Tuesday and Saturday.

•  Businesses: Monday and Thursday.

•  No irrigation runoff onto streets, sidewalks, parking lots, alleys, or neighboring property.

•  Do not wash sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, or other hard surfaces except for an immediate health or fire hazard.

•  Vehicle washing only at a commercial car wash that recycles water.

•  All hoses must have shut-off nozzles. Repair leaks promptly.

•  Hotels must post emergency notices; restaurants serve drinking water only when requested.

Water-use priorities: human consumption, sanitation, and fire protection.

Questions or health-and-safety relief requests: RCSD • (707) 923-3101 • redwaycsd.org

Authority: RCSD Water Conservation Ordinance 2018-01. Stage declaration is subject to Board ratification. Any construction-meter or new-connection moratorium requires the applicable separate Board action.
